Why lots?
A starting place,
not a message.
Bible Lots grew from a desire to pray, make a genuinely unbiased cast over Scripture, and read the result as a fresh place to begin.
“The app only casts the lot.
The Word is where you listen.”
The Word is where you listen.”
Proverbs 16:33
Berean Standard Bible33 The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
Acts 1:24–26
Berean Standard Bible24 And they prayed, “Lord, You know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two You have chosen
25 to take up this ministry and apostleship, which Judas abandoned to go to his rightful place.”
26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias. So he was added to the eleven apostles.
Bible Lots does not claim that a cast is a personal message from God. It does not replace prayer, discernment, study, sound interpretation, or reading Scripture in context.
The story behind Bible Lots
Why I built Bible Lots
Since childhood, I have been drawn to opening Scripture “at random.” But a physical Bible is not truly unbiased: its binding, page distribution, and the places it naturally falls open all shape the result. Bible Lots was created to make a genuinely unbiased cast within the Scripture pool and method you choose: Pray → Cast → Read.
I deeply value Scripture, yet routine or monotone reading can sometimes make it hard for me to stay engaged—something I have personally experienced alongside ADHD. My hope is that Bible Lots helps others with similar struggles or spiritual longing reconnect with God’s Word, rediscover His glory, and find a fresh place to begin. The core casting and Bible-reading experience is intended to remain free for all. Sometimes you just need somewhere to begin.
